Country

Actions/Updates

Cook Islands

5 stream flow stations are now operational. NIWA was contracted to carry out doem of the installations. Te Kou also has a telemetered rainfall station.

Federated States of Micronesia

2 flow stations and 3 rainfall stations are now operational in FSM. Training has been provided to the staff to undertake data collection.

Fiji

Rewa sites were installed and NIWA will complete the final stage of the Rewa flood monitoring system in early August. New frequencies and radios have been set up for better data transfer

Kiribati

Matthew Cyr completed his groundwater consultancy. Data being processed. Further refurbishments to remaining bores to take place.

Marshall Islands

Ongoing data download of divers and water quality, Training was provide to the team during the last mission on equipment care and data analysis.

Nauru

GIS rain water data is being refined and will be presented to Nauru Hydrology.

Niue

Pactam personnel was deployed to Niue to assist the Water Supply Division and to carry out activites for HYCOS.

Palau

NIWA completed installations in Palau . to date 6 flow stations are operational and the team capacity has been boosted with regular training during missions

PNG

7 flow sites are now operational with 3 in the highland and remainder in Port Moresby. Rainguages have also been installed however due to transport issues sitesa re not visited regularly

Samoa

Data rescue currently still ongoing - progressing well - with guidance provided by the Project Hydrologist David Turner. 9 flow sites are operational with additonal 6 EPC sites. Data collection and site visits are regular

Solomon Islands

3 hydro flow stations are now operational however transport remains an issue to service the sites

Tonga

IDEXX equipment delivered to Ministry of Health. Well head survey to be done in October. Database training and follow up is currently being undertaken by Edwin Liava'a

Tuvalu

GIS data is ready. Mission by GIS Specialist Edwin Liava'a to conduct follow-up GIS training. IDEXX equipment awas delivered and intensive Rain water harvesting initiatives have been undertaken

Vanuatu

5 flow stations and raingauges are now operational. Training has been provided to the incountry staff to undertake data collection and monitoring.
